| - Vegas...all the excitement, all the people, the food, the drinks...then you've had enough. that was me...then I found Canyon Ranch spa, thanks to a recommendation of a friend who had gone before. after three days of all that Vegas and the Strip have to offer I scheduled a Spa Day
from the booking which I chose to do by phone (even though on-line is available) the receptionist was so professional, and patient and helpful. I suggest doing as I did...find the Spa the day before your visit as it is located in both the Venetian and the Palazzo.
My check in was quick and professional I was given a tour of the entire facility and provided a spacious locker, luxurious robe and sandals. the facility provides separate area for men and women and a coed area. this makes going between the available treatment areas easy and comfortable for all. the mens side was HUGE. there I enjoyed a hot dry sauna, a hot wet steam room, an oversized jetted hot tub, numerous zero gravity, heated chaise lounges where I rested between treatments. there was a walk-in shower where you choose the type of environment you want to experience, fog, tropical rainforest, or rainstorm. this unique treatment provides sound and visuals to more realistically create your experience and is the ideal place to cool off after a hot treatment. Finally I discovered the Herbal Laconium. this Unique warm stone room has private setting chambers where you sit and inhale the moist herbal infusion which opened up and moistened my sinuses...very tranquil and comforting. I loved it.
throughout the mens side are hundreds of clean fluffy white towels, numerous water stations where flavored water can be had and a vanity area with all the requirements, shaving cream, mouthwash, razors, etc. there is also a shower area where you can privately shower before and after arriving. The men's area then provides a large rest/relax area with private beds chairs and a television area where you can read, sleep, or just wait for your scheduled spa services
the co-ed area is where two unique experiences are. there is the Salt room, which I tried for a short while but there were a group of girls who were talking and this to me was disruptive to the experience. and the other is the Wave room. Here you again relax in zero gravity chaises and what you experience is a visual of being just underwater. here it is quiet and amazingly relaxing.
My Spa treatments began with a spa pedicure which was amazing and I was very satisfied with the results. I then had a 80 minute deep tissue massage. This was pure bliss. My therapist was quite experienced, and magically worked out all my kinks. I felt like jello afterwards. I then returned to the treatment area for another few treatments before my facial. I was treated to a seasonal emersion into facial heaven. My therapist was gently even during the extractions. She expertly chose a variety of creams, masques, and cleansers for my skin. afterwards I was shown a boutique where one can purchase any and all of the products offered at the spa. It was amazing end to my day. when I was checking out I realized I had been there for over 7 hours. And I didn't even do any of the scheduled classes or use the humongous workout facility. Maybe I should have skipped the strip, and just spent a few more days at Canyon Ranch!
