  • We stayed overnight in downtown Chandler the weekend of New Year's Eve 2016. The area was beautifully decorated with lights on all the lamp posts and string lights decorated the street-lined palm trees. In the center of the plaza, standing tall, was the popular Tumbleweed Christmas tree, which also was beautifully lit. As I stood back and looked all around, it was nice to see so many people with happy faces. The air was brisk and the vibe was uplifting. People bustled about and took pictures in front of the tree: couples taking selfies, parents telling kids to stand still while their pictures were being taken, families asking me to assist in their picture moment. It seemed like it was a great evening for many.
