Modern decor in dark earthy tones is beautiful. As for the food: Compliments to chef Scott Conant for his NYC location but not this one. However, with more attentive service and a little less repetitive flavours, Scarpetta, italian for little shoe or small piece of bread used to dip in a sauce could be a good addition to the Thompson hotel. though still a work in progress. Mushroom fricassee is excellent along with their silky hot molten rich chocolate cake which is a perfect fit in the warm chic monochromatic brown decor. However the acoustic design needs to be revised: room sounds are loud and brittle.
