I have a parent in this hospital right now. Three doctors were in his room arguing with my elderly parent and threatening them with sending them home in a cab and my parent was telling them there's nobody home to take care of them. While I suspect my parent was being a pain in the butt, there is no excuse for doctors to behave in this manner. I am 4 hours away and cannot drop my job to come to their aide and now I have to worry about what they are doing to my parent. I have been unable to speak with a Case Manager despite my several requests as I am trying to get my parent transferred to a rehab facility for a week or so. Nothing. No call back, no way to get them on the phone, I've been completely shut out. I even have 2 non-Banner rehab centers willing to accept him. To get a return call from a nurse for a status is nearly impossible and they are now looking to discharge my parent on their own recognizance when there is nobody at home to help. They can barely walk and not strong enough to take care of themselves like cooking, etc. So worried and very frustrated. I'd also like to add that this is the 2nd time they've been in the hospital from this operation. Banner Rehab released them to go home too early and two days later, they're back in the hospital. The RN that visited my parent at home was shocked that they released my parent in that condition. I'm very upset with the care my parent is getting in this hospital. Beware!
