  • By 3pm on my first visit to Toronto, I realized that I had to get away from my work computer and explore the city. I'd never had Steam Whistle's beer before but decided to give it a try since it seemed to be the cheapest option. For $10, you can enter the brewery for a tour. With your ticket you receive a "steam whistle" glass or retro bottle opener. Once there you are immediately offered their beer. You can drink in a normal sized glass the entire time you're there. While you wait for your tour, on the tour and for 30 minutes after. They ensure your glass is always full. It was a nice treat. The beer is the main focus but the facilities are also rich in history and a lot of fun. The building was originally a round house for trains and although the beer is not named for a train whistle, it fits the facility perfectly. The unique thing about the facilities is that they do recycle all their signature green bottles across Canada. So help them out!
