| - This is more or less just a shout out to the two brilliant sportswriters that the Plain Dealer managed to shanghai from the Beacon Journal (talk about a paper in trouble).
Terry Pluto is an award winning author, nationally recognized, and right here in Cleveland writing about sports, light philosophy and even religion, on occasion. I don't always agree with his points, but they're always well developed. AND, he responds to reader comments, and is reachable by phone and email.
Brian Windhorst is nothing but the best NBA beat-writer in the country. I've read papers all over this joint, in every major city (except San Antonio and New Orleans), and nobody comes close to Brian in his quest to cover the Cavs.
The angles and in depth storylines he stumbles across are beyond entertaining...and hopefully, as the Cavs march harder toward national recognition, he'll continue to step up the ladder of recognition (Yahoo.com has picked up several of his stories).
Those two guys alone are worth picking up the paper for.
And yes, of course Opus on Sundays.
Rating will hit five stars once the paper fires Bud Shaw and Bill Livingston. They're morons.
