  • All seemed fine at first, when I started going here a couple weeks ago, due to new insurance. Front office staff is actually extremely friendly. Dentist seemed nice enough. But after he said I needed a root canal (never needed one), my roommate said "whoa, are you having any pain at all?" I wasn't. Got a 2nd opinion today from a DIFFERENT dentist, in Tempe. She said a root canal wouldn't help my situation at all. Not necessary. She impressed me as very honest. Can't say that for Family Dentistry. Also, their office manager outright lied to me about my insurance only going to cover this until end of the month--after that they wouldn't cover it. And that I needed to do the root canal first, before another tooth I need crowned gets treated: the only way insurance would cover it. Both totally bogus I found out, when I called my insurance company yesterday. Sure wish I had ck'd with Yelp before going to Family Dental! I won't be going back for further treatment by them.
