  • I went with an old college friend to Four Peaks when I was visiting a couple weekends ago. I'm kind of a sports fanatic and both the baseball playoffs and Monday night football were on. We sat outside, and it was gorgeous! I am sure that a lot of this has to do with the time of year (October) - like others have said, no air conditioning in late summer, probably isn't too fun! It wasn't too crowded so we got a table right away. The waitresses were very friendly as I have noticed was true of pretty much everyone I met on my trip to Arizona. The beers were pretty good as was the food. The menu wasn't very extensive, but it sufficed for what we were looking for. One of the things I still can't seem to figure out is the ratio of men to women. Normally, in a Chicago bar, it's about 60% women, 40% men (and that's being generous). Now, this particular evening in Tempe, it was about 80% men, and 20% women. I have tried to come up with every reason I can think of - it was a Monday night, it's a sports bar, etc. But none of these reasons suffice, because I'm a single girl, I go out on Monday nights and I love sports bars! (I'm not an anomaly either - most of my girl friends love sports.) Let's just say I wasn't complaining either. I'll have to go back to Four Peaks, if for nothing else, just to see if the gender ratio is still the same. And next time, I won't bring my single guy friend with me, I'll bring my single girl friends!
