| - Another Bait & Switch.
Early May we booked the Villa Feroce House in Paradise Valley, AZ through Chelsea from BookMyVacay through AirBNB. Communication leading up to the check-in day was great, expecting everything else to go just as planned. As it got down to about 4 hours prior to our Check-In, I receive a voicemail from a Laura saying that there was a "utility issue" and we will not be able to rent the house for our scheduled trip. This was a huge issue due to the fact that our 16 members of our party were on planes and or vehicles to this location from across the United States. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt about this "last minute unforeseen issue" but, things started to get fishy as they weren't willing to compensate for the issue.
When asking what the utility issue was, they were unable to answer that question and said they did not know. That is a huge red flag. How do you own a house and not be informed what the issue is?? Even AirBNB tried to get ahold of them to find out the utility issue, and they couldn't even get an answer. After looking at BookMyVacay here on Yelp and finding that others have dealt with a similar issue, it was clear we were being scammed. They likely received a better offer to rent out the house for the weekend and wanted to kick us out.
They gave us an option for another "comparable" house in the area, but this home they attempted to give us was not a home that was comparable or better than our original booking. We have 16 in our party, while this house was listed for a max of 10 people. They wanted to offer us a couple "free luxury roll-away beds", but that is not fair to my group who each expects their own bed. When looking at this new house across multiple vacation home services, the price was clearly cheaper, yet BookMyVacay was trying to convince us that it was actually more expensive and a better option for us. That was simply a lie to us and not the case as we found it for hundreds of dollars cheaper than our original booking. They have the Villa Feroce listed at $1500/night, yet tried saying Mediterranean Palace was the same price, even though they have it listed at $500/night. This forced us to find other accommodations. When we found a better option from someone else, they were quite shocked we weren't going with their 2nd option for us. This is what they do though. They put you in a situation where it's last minute and vulnerable in hopes so they can get 2 houses rented rather than 1.
It's quite a shame they decided to put us through this awful situation, and I do hope they question their morality, just to make a quick buck. Potential renters, please look out for this. A few of us in our group has rented out our own homes on Airbnb, so understand what it's like to be a host. If there was ever a problem on my end renting out my place, I would do my best to take care of them to fix the solution and offer more compensation. Offering a 2nd smaller option is helpful, but not enough. We shouldn't have to pay the full price for something that is cheaper and they clearly didn't feel bad at all for the inconvenience. I hate leaving reviews like this as you can see my Yelp history is a majority of all positive reviews, but I hope others do not book with this company and get screwed over when expecting a nice vacation with their friends and family.

**Update** I've since received contact from Chelsea at BookMyVacay stating that they are WILLING TO PAY ME OFF in order to take this review down. No thank you. Future renters deserve to know the experience of all past clients.
