When we found a house on the market in our price rage within the area we wanted to live we were super excited and immediately put an application in with an earnest deposit well above the asking to prove how serious we were. We were of course approved and the rent was raised by $200. When we asked why it was different they told us that it was a typo. Lol. Whatever. We didn't stay our whole lease but we complied and paid re-listing fees and paid the rent until the house was rented again. When we moved in the house wasn't a total mess but it wasn't clean. There were dead scorpions and roaches all over the place. The grout in the bathrooms and mold in the shower. When we left we spent a day cleaning. The house was left in better condition then when we had moved in. They charged us for things that were listed on our move in sheet and then even added a few things such as general wipe down charging $355. They charged us $245 for yard maintenance (the yard is dirt except a patch of grass on the side of the house) and even charged us to re key their house. Lol. I have NEVER heard of being charged $110 to re key ANYTHING and I manage a restaurant with a whole lot of locks. Of our $1500 they raped us down to $600. I should have known when I read the part of the lease that reads, "no one is trying to screw you." Hahaha!!
By the way. Their office is miserable and 2 of their employees told us this is a horrible place to work. But that's just hear say so let's stick to the facts.
I have NEVER not had a deposit refunded to me nearly in full and now realize that this company does want to screw you. If you can avoid it then stay away. It's bad business to screw people over. We were really counting on more of our deposit coming back to do to how clean we left the house and complied with all requests.
We broke our lease, by the way, after we had to make several police reports on the neighbors for things from breaking in and damaging our stuff to harassment and assault. Guess the gays weren't liked by the neighbors or this company.
