rev:text	When I walked in, I had a flashback to The Barber's Closet. That's high praise indeed--the only thing missing at Gibs was the larger space. Man, I miss that place, but this seems like it'll be a nice replacement. It's a renovated house, so the spaces inside are small, giving a lovely intimate feel to the place. The bartender prepared the cocktails in front of us, two off the menu, a Dark and Stormy and the amusingly named Penicillin (another friend said one time she was there the cocktail she ordered came out of the tap). There were menus for Grampa's Pizza at the bar, and the bartender explained we could order off the menu and they'd bring it in a take-out box to our table at Gibs. Win-win. The drinks were strong--pleasantly so--with a nice flavor balance. The only down notes would be the small space--I could see how the place would be stifling on the weekend, the street parking, and the uneven volume of the music. We'd be talking a little louder to hear each other over the music, then there'd be a pause and we'd have to adjust to not be too loud. I also appreciate their 'daily special' that donates a portion of proceeds to a local charity. When I was there, it was the Dane County Humane Society. Edit: This is the Willy Street neighborhood, an area well known for it's ultra-liberal stances and hard-line inclusiveness. You can't toe that line in your professional life, you will lose business. My friend and I will be looking for an alternate cocktail bar.
