  • Trying to find decent coffee in Toronto is hard. We excitedly heard about Lit and went for a saturday afternoon coffee. The place looks the real deal. They even have genuine descriptions of the coffee on the wall - mixtures of milk etc. I had a Cortado (similar to a mac with more milk) and my wife had a cap. Both coffees had the "burnt" taste - i.e. they were over-extracted, probably because the barrista had overfilled or over pressed the coffee in the holder. We tried to drink it but for the first time in our lives ... we returned a coffee. It probably doesn't happen often but we got attitude from the barrista - wishing i hadn't tipped for those awful coffees. The 2nd round of coffees were much better but it was hard to get rid of the acrid taste from the first round. Lit probably has great calibrated machines, great coffee - but you still need the barista to know what he/she is doing....
