  • Went here when it first opened and completely hated it other than the decor so years later when it's being touted as the best buffet in town I had to give it another try. I happy to say they are doing better but not by much. The food selection seemed like it went on forever and there was no way I was gonna be able to try everything. So I had to strategically go through the buffet. First stop the Asian station...I had the lumpia which didn't have a single piece of meat inside, the sesame balls which were reminiscent of Sunday dim sum with family, exactly 1 bite of the hot and sour soup because it tasted nothing like its name sake, and some roasted duck which Sam woo definitely does better. Oh and the pork stuffed chicken wing which didn't have much flavor Next was the American/carving station. The roast beef was cooked well but didn't have a lot of flavor. The everything corn was the highlight of this section...reminded me of elotes. The Mac n cheese has no flavor and the baked beans where no better than out of the can. The mashed potatoes at least look homemade cause the skin where mashed in but tasteless again. On to the seafood bar...first had to try the hot crab and sadly too salty again. So I tried the cold crab to see it it had the same problem which it did. The oysters though were exactly what an oyster should be...fresh and tastes of the sea! The garlic soup in the escargot was delicious but the shrimp cocktail were small smooshy and water soaked...almost as if they had been thawed after being frozen for too long. Last of the savory was the Mexican section...the redeeming quality of this buffett was the man making the special order tacos...he was cheery, did a little chit chatting while cooking gave me my al pastor taco and informed me that all the condiments where at the end of the bar...he genuinely seemed like he enjoyed his job. The taco was pretty good too! Lastly was the dessert bar...while the last time I visited the gelato bar was the only section in the buffet that held up to its reputation of offering new and innovative flavors, it just wasn't the case anymore...all the flavors had been replaced with classics...strawberry, chocolate, vanilla...the most complex flavor I could find was ginger green tea and this bar must have been the yin to the Mexican bar yang cause the man serving the ice cream could have not been in a pissyer mood...he hated his job! The buffet no longer makes the fresh soufflĂ© thank god cause they were awful but they do offer freshly baked lava cake which were equally as bad...barely warm chocolate cake with no lava in the middle. All in all I don't I will coming back to this buffet which is too highly priced, serves dreaded Pepsi products, and just doesn't match my taste buds when there are much better options in town.
