| - 10th Annual Spring Wine Fest
We came, we drank, we ate, we conquered.
This was our second time attending the Spring Wine Fest at Golden Nugget. We received a glass to take home with us as usual with a good wine tasting. I wish the year were etched on these thigh this year or something saying "10th Annual" I really love pulling these glasses out later and remembering the fun from those nights.
The food was amazing, the small plates were being put together on demand by the catering staff. There was a spicy shrimp and sausage pasta and some sort of stuffed white pasta on the other end.
In the corner there was the chocolate station. Any kind of truffle you could think of was laying out on the tables. There was also a large chocolate piece created by the gentleman behind the table. The chocolate looked beautiful and some pieces too nice to eat, but we ate them. :)
Across the room was a smorgasbord of salad, grilled veggies, meats, cheeses and delectable oils. I tried some of the white truffle oil with a piece of pita bread and I not realized what my home pantry is lacking! :)
The wine selection was good but probably 75% red wines. We are not a red wine drinker though there were a few we did try and like. Prisoner wine being one, for a blend wine; that was delicious. I wish there were more white wines, bubbles and any sweet wines to pair with the chocolates.
The entertainment was AMAZING! I wish I got the name of that group who sang but the frontman toured with the Temptations and you could tell. He was the best! The band got the crowd dancing, we were even grooving a bit.
I always have fun at this event, it's organized, classy and everyone is so nice. Cheers to another ten years!
