| - Wow. Where to begin? My mother has lived in this apartment complex for 14 years, and what happened during a call to the office today goes beyond any sense of rational thought or basic human decency. My 87 year-old mother is dying imminently. My brother went to the office several days ago to let them know what was happening. They made it very clear that she was responsible for paying her rent through the end of February, when her lease is up. Okay, bad enough, when she won't be alive past the last week of December. Her granddaughter came from the east coast to help take care of her during her final days. She went to the office because she couldn't get access to use the treadmill in the workout room. The office "management" refused to allow her access to the gym without my mother's consent--expected from a woman who has been unconscious for the last five days. They required that my mom come to the office or send an email to let my 21 year-old daughter use the facility. The woman I spoke with, to whom I told this really horrible story about my mother--the 14 year resident of this complex--not only didn't give a s*** , but never offered up so much as an "I'm sorry"; just repeating that they would not allow my daughter to use a treadmill because my mother could not give her verbal or written consent. They are despicable people without a soul or a brain in their collective heads.
I have to say that when my mother moved in here all those years ago, it was a much different place. What has happened over the past several years has been nothing short of pathetic and dramatic in terms of La Privada's downward spiral. Shame, shame on them. Of course this has nothing, in the end, to do with a ridiculous treadmill. This is solely an issue of basic human decency, which they are clearly lacking in every possible way. Their flippancy and utter soullessness is unrivaled, like nothing I've ever experienced in my lifetime.
One last thing. I've never written a negative review before. Ever. I've never felt the need. Until today.
