  • Don and Charlie's was interesting. It's a steakhouse meets sports bar type of place. We came here for a celebratory dinner for my sister after she graduated from college. We made a reservation for 7:45pm. I checked out the menu beforehand and based on the pricing, I envisioned this place to be pretty upscale. I was surprised when I walked in that the whole place is littered with sports memorabilia. It's on the walls, ceiling, everywhere. It's pretty cool to look at but not what I imagined at all. It was very quiet on a Monday night and only a handful of tables were occupied. Our server was sweet and efficient. And so was the bus boy who cleared plates and filled water. Shortly after we sat down, bread, bagel chips and butter were brought to the table. I love that the butter was room temp so it was easy to spread. We ordered shortly after and the food came out about 20 minutes after that. Out of 7 of us, 3 people got ribs, 3 got steaks and one salmon. The Parmesan crusted NY which I ordered was delicious. It was cooked medium as I requested. The Parmesan crust fell off the steak so that was a slight annoyance but still tasty. Each entree comes with coleslaw creamy or vinegar style, and a choice of potato. The coleslaw was delicious. It was cold and tangy. The mashed potatoes were ok as well as the fries. Minor gripes. My bro ordered the "steak sandwich" which is literally just a piece of steak and cheese toast on the side. The waitress warned him that this was not what you think a sandwich would be, and she was not wrong. But my thing is why would you even call it a sandwich then? Also it came out very burnt. My bro didn't want to complain but I would have said something. Also the ranch although homemade, was SO SALTY. I could barely eat it. And you know I love my ranch. I hear this place is closing soon because it got bought out by a hotel or something. But I think it will be open for another year or so.
