| - I just moved out of San Tropez yesterday. I thought I would give my honest review. First let me say that there are three options when moving in, there is the "older model", the renovated model (more $$ obviously) and the older model with the chance to upgrade all the appliances for $60 a month.
I chose the older model because it was the best rate and I was moving into a one bedroom by myself and needed to save as much as possible. Anyone looking to move into a one bedroom by themselves should stop reading and look elsewhere, just because of the fact that there are many more newer upgraded places for less money in the surrounding area. If you are having a roommate, or you need a last minute lease (like me), then read on.
Honestly, the leasing staff really made this place what it is. I dealt with Sabrina and Yajaira the most, and they are the sweetest nicest ladies you will ever meet. The whole staff in general was always extremely friendly and helpful with any issue I had. I was debating giving this place three stars, but I could not give anything less than 4 purely because of the leasing staff. If you just approach the office with any issues professionally, maturely, and don't act like a d---, they will take care of you!
The appliances are older (late 70 maybe early 80) but it really should not be a turn off. I never had any problems and they worked 100% of the time. The only repair I ever needed was for the garbage disposal, and I am pretty sure something was just caught in it. I lived in a place previously that had all brand new touch screen appliances, and maintenance was there every week. So if you do not like the look of the appliances, just remember they work, and will continue to work.
Maintenance was great, always responded to my request in 24 hours.
I will say parking can be a bi--. I had my own spot and it was just me so it was not an issue for me personally, but if I had guest over (generally Friday and Saturday nights), they would be lucky to find a spot, and that was frustrating.
Trash needs work. Dumpsters are overflowing all the time. Probably more of a city pick up issue, but it should be addressed. They did try to have recycling at one point, but everyone was too dumb to figure out which dumpster was which and mixed everything together, so that went away fast.
Community is ok in regards to residents. Maybe I had bad luck, but there is a couple that try to put on events every month. I was unable to attend any due to my work schedule, but if you can, you might meet some cool people. The people around my unit were not as friendly, people are often rude, and dog owners need to grow a brain. There was a resident in my area that worked late hours, would come home and get the dog all excited so he would bark and run around. Then she would vacuum at about 3 am, and since dogs love vacuums, I would hear vacuuming and a dog trying to attack it. Now again maybe I had bad luck, I am a pretty friendly person, but I was really hoping for a friendly closer knit community due to moving out to Scottsdale with minimal friends in the area (all recently graduated), but I was disappointed
I was on the units not by the pool or main road, so I thought it was pretty quite, other than the dogs barking.
Carport lights were out a lot :( Gets pretty dark in the area. There is no security, and on occasion people come through and go through the dumpsters looking for cans. I do not care much about that, but a combination of the carport lights being out, dark community, and random people (rarely) strangling through for cans, cannot help but be worried about my vehicle. Granted I NEVER had an issue, never felt unsafe at any point, and the community in general seemed pretty safe.
Overall the leasing staff was among the best. I think the community either needs to lower the rent or make some improvements to the things I listed above. If they did either one of those, I would consider living here again. I had to move out because I need a much lower rent.
Thanks for reading my review
