| - 4.5 STARS:) It was hot, relaxing, and boring.. as all zoos are, but I loved it!! This zoo was huge, and we practically owned it, maybe less than 20 guests during our visit between 10am-1pm. I paid $60 for our family of 5 using groupon and coupons.. great deal, and certainly worth the price we paid.
The aquariums were my favorite, 3 building of cool displays and awesome variety of fishes. The fishes were lively and swam around a lot, they even swam up to the glass.. and the ceiling aquariums were super cool! Touching the star fishes was okay (better than the girl working than section, as other reviewers had mentioned). And petting the sting rays was a really fun, neat experience!
Of course, the giraffes were really cool, my kids loved feeding them (trying to aim the pellets onto their tongues) Luckily we got the giraffes all to ourselves (we heard guests get crazy during busy days, fighting in line to feed the giraffes).
We tried to visit all the animals there, other notable animals there were the babies and baby lion in the nursery, the kangaroo walkabout, the jaguar that growled at me, the white tiger who was playing with a large ball, and a scary white-thighed hornbill who was attacking a smaller bird in his enclosure. I also like how birds and peacocks roam about freely, and lots of ducks just cruising about.
We bought our own water bottles, and refilled them at the cold water fountains. 1 Icee, 1 soda, 1 fries, and 2 burgers costs us $26, ouch. And we never rode any of the park attractions, as the HEAT was pretty miserable that we probably wouldn't enjoy it much. Overall.. family had a great time :))
