This is right in my hood but to be honest the signage almost faces Ft. Apache but mostly pointing north with the storefront. I come from the south so I rarely see the sign and finally made a point to pull in Saturday afternoon as a pre-movie snack.
Props to everyone working there for being super friendly. Almost too friendly. Since it was dogs, I sort of anticipated a chi-town or zoo-york 'tude but not so Joe. They have a big chalk menu on the back wall but as you face the cute girl and the register there is a menu behind her. Too much visual overload so I just ask for what is popular. At 3pm, there are about 6 patrons eating in-house and I take that as a good sign for an off-time.
Based on the recommendation I opted for their Philly Cheese Steak hotdog, "sweet fries" and a Mt. Dew. If you gonna do it, dew it! Never had sweet fries or whatever they were called but I will probably just opt for chips next time.
Quickly I was served at my table with a great looking work of art hotdog. Certainly photo worthing and to quote a Seinfeldism...sponge worthy...whatever the hell that means. I wolfed down the dog and was on my way. Where I was sitting I did not see a garbage can so asked if I was to buss my own table. No, we will they said but as I walked out I saw the garbage can and realized they just did me one. Cool peeps. I would highly recommend.
