Horrible experience yesterday. My girl friends bought me a groupon for my birthday to go get a massage. So yesterday I called to set an appt. The man that answered seemed nice. I explained that I had a groupon and gave him the groupon number. He said thank you and booked the appt. I drove 30 minutes to go over there. Once I got there he greeted with a smile but then told me he couldn't find the groupon number in his system. No record of it. I gave him the print out and after about 10 minutes he finally says "oh I know, you got this groupon from our expired account, I cannot honor it. " WTF? He continued to explain that if I wanted to I could go on the new groupon account and purchase a new offer and he would give me a discount. I considered it. I had just driven across town and was totally looking forward to a massage and paraffin treatment. I asked several times what that would include and at what cost and he just kept saying "I'll give you discount. I'll give you good deal" no answer . He said to contact groupon for a refund and pay for the massage there. I explained it was a gift and his answer was "call your friends and tell them to get a refund and give you the money back!" How rude! I walked out very upset. Thumbs way down! Too bad I have to put at least 1 star.
Update: The response from this company is an insult. 1. If groupon does give a refund it would not go to me. It was a gift. That means I would have to pay out of pocket. 2. I never did get a real answer. If I paid out of pocket, what package would I get and how much would it cost? 3. I never said the guy was rude. He was very nice and smiley. BUT he did not solve the problem. He was clueless .I called hours before I went and gave him the voucher number and description of the groupon as well as my name and the giftgivers name. I also explained that I was 30 minutes away. He could have told me over the phone that there was an issue and saved me time and gas and frustration. 4. Most importantly, please do not insinuate that I am a liar! He did in fact, suggest that i buy my own package and contact my friends to get a refund and give me the money back. And since it was only he and I in the front office you cannot say with any certainty that it did not happen. I think it would be rude to call my friends and say "hey the groupon did not work so I got my own package now you gotta give me cash." That's not ok with me. I have the printout that states that the monetary value is with this spa and can be used towards other services from the merchant if the coupon expires or is removed. Today my friend got an email stating that the coupon has been extended to July 21 and can still be used.
