| - Tucked in the heart of downtown, Drury Plaza Hotel is located in the old Federal Reserve building on Grant. They have utilized the old reserve theme, so they have the vaults open for you to see and the decor is posh. Very clean, spacious....our room was seriously the size of two normal rooms at other local hotels. They whole place is spacious and they are pet friendly! Pets are welcome, $25 pet fee per night per dog or cat.
I was seriously impressed with their free hot breakfast. Not only do they have a ton of seating but they had a huge selection of hot foods, juices, cereal and more. The staff were attentive, welcoming and kept everything filled. Their happy hour is in the same spot, 5:30pm to 7pm, and that as hot food as well. They day we went down they had chili, chicken tenders, soup and so much more. Not only do they give you 1 free drink, you get two coupons that say your next 2 drinks are 75 cents each (plus tax). This is only for happy hour and you get your drink coupons at the front desk. Bartender Amy was one of our favorite staff members we met. Not only does she make great espresso martinis and drinks, but she truly made everyone feel welcome. She entertained the entire bar and rocked taking care of everyone. I have not seen all of this at other local hotels, so Drury is really catering to the customers and wanting them to relax and enjoy themselves.
Valet parking is a little high but for the area it is not bad. $29 dollars a day but you can go in and out all you want. It's right in the heart of downtown, with limited parking, so it does make sense to charge more. You get so much from this hotel that it really evens out.
Since this a brand new hotel, they really want to make a good impression. The extra details may not always be offered and the prices were the best I could find in the immediate area. They really will be one of the best rated hotels downtown in a short time. With all they do to accommodate guest, they will have to start increasing prices to make any profit. They seriously go above and beyond.
