  • I don't know what kind of experience the other yelpers had that compelled them to rate this place highly but my take is that they drank too many beers and lost their objectivity. I went to Four Peaks recently and it was NOT GOOD FOOD. I had to send two entrees back bacause of really poor food quality. Here's the whole story... There were four of us - myself, my musical duo partner, our producer and his 85 year old father who walks with a cane and is obviously physically encumbered. It was relatively busy on a Friday night but not super crazy. First thing, the hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside, which was a "no" due to Pop's difficulty navigating - should have been obvious to the hostess. Then she asked if a HighBoy table was OK - again a no - same reason - again should have been really obvious. There was an empty 6 top right next to the hostess stand and the front door. Pops asked if we could just sit there and one of the hostess had the nerve to say "No, there are only four of you and we are saving that in case we have a larger party come in." Really??? Here's an old man with a cane who is limping in to your establishment and you have attitude? After a bit of stunned disbelief, one of the other hostesses decided it was ok for us to sit down at this 6 top. I should have known at this point that this wasn't going to be a pleasant dining experience. So, on to ordering dinner. I am trying to eat gluten free and the menu was not gluten-free friendly. I ordered chicken enchiladas - chicken, corn tortillas, rice, beans, green sauce - sounds good - fairly safe, right? Pops had a chili verde chimichanga. Other guys had a salad and a tenderloin sandwich. Food came out fairly quickly. Pop's chimichanga wasn't a chimichange at all - it was a burrito. In my mind, a chimichanga is typically a deep fried burrito of sorts but this never saw a deep fryer. He couldn't cut through the rubbery tortilla and only ate about third of it. He said the filling was bland and not good. They took it away. He was nice about it but obviousy dis-satisfied. (Plate prep and presentation was poor, too - it was exactly like my enchilada presentation - read on.) My chicken enchiladas were made out of the smallest size raw dry corn tortillas rolled up with a little pre-made dry chicken filling (more like small taquito sized) set on a gigantic plate with a liquidy swimming pool of bean juice that looked like vomit covering almost half of the plate. Rice was really dry and horribly undercooked and crunchy. There was a small teaspoon sized splat of runny green sauce on the side. Then it looked like the chefs threw cheese on top and tossed the whole thing under the broiler. The bottom of the enchiladas were stuck to the plate - obviously put on the plate dry - and then not sauced at all. Now enchiladas should be cooked in sauce with cheese on top melted in the oven and in no way dry. Miserable fail #1. Everything about this dish was not done well. I would have to say bad kitchen. I sent it back. Server was polite and asked if I would like to order something else - which I did. I ordered an Italian Beef sandwich with no bread since they didn't have any gluten free bread options - expecting a nice juicy bowl of thin sliced beef with some onions, peppers, and cheese. What did I get? A bowl full of coagulated, probably microwaved cheese, with a few CHUNKS (yes chunks) of dry tasteless beef (cooked hours before and left to die on the prep table) and some undeterminable vegetable mush that was also probably pre-cooked much earlier in the day. The manager came and asked how it was before I even took a bite - told her It didn't look like any Italian beef I had ever seen before - not juicy and delicious looking - she said that was because I ordered it with no mayonaisse and that would have made it juicier (HUH??) - but I said I would try it and let her know. Server came over after one bite and I told her the same thing. I really tried to eat a few bites, rather unsuccessfully. Then I picked up the whole mass of congealed food with my fork and was able to hold it up like a popsicle (poopsicle). The rest of the table laughed and I told them if I was really being Gordon Ramsay about it I would say it looked like the inside of a baby's diaper. It was DISGUSTING!!! Dry, tasteless, and just gross. When the sever came over again, I told her basically everything I just wrote and additionally told her to have the chef and the manager taste it - best solution to fixing a dish is to taste what is wrong with it, right? I guess not because she immediately put the whole thing into the bus tray and didn't even give feedback to the chef or the manager. THEN she had the nerve to try to sneak this second dish onto the bill. When we checked and had her remove it, she got really cold and didn't talk to us the rest of the evening, which thankfully wasn't much longer. I cannot believe that they get away with serving this crap and remain in business. BAD FOOD!!!
