I've been a huge Beatles fan since birth. I'd been following this production since the first rumors came out . I wanted to go the first month it came out but everyone told me to pleeeeeeeeease wait because they wanted to go too. This past November the chance finally came up and my whole family went to go check it out. A show about the greatest band ever, told by the greatest performers in the world!?! I couldn't believe it!
The outside is very well done. All the workers are dressed in Beatle-esque fashion and come along w/ fake British accent. Good job getting the feel right.
The show - Although I did enjoy the show, my expectations were not met. I thought it would be a Cirque masterpiece, but instead found it to be somewhat of a letdown. Throughout the whole show I kept thinking in my head if it was ever going to get better. There aren't any over-the-top feats, and nothing that left me thinking "wow."
The show revolves around the history of the Beatles and is packed with symbolism dealing with the groups musical and personal lives. I think someone who isn't such a BIG fan wouldn't grasp some of this symbolism. I had purchased the soundtrack months before I went and it only got my even more excited. Fantastic job by the Martin's on the mixing of the music.
I'm very glad I got to see the show however and DO recommend it to any fan of the Beatles. The costumes were great. I just thought much more coulda been done.
If you buy a drink you get this cool Beatles LOVE cup.
