So much for it being "the family store..."
My husband and I went into Keffer Jeep looking for a minivan, as our family is soon expanding. We told the salesman our budget and what we had in mind year/mileage wise. Everything was going good when he showed us a 2009 vw Routan in the price range and mileage we were looking for.
This vehicle was in the back of the lot where they put trade ins and cars coming and going out of their service center for inspections. The salesman told us it has already gone through inspection with "flying colors" and it was just waiting to be detailed. He said he would get the key so we could test drive. After waiting close to 40 minutes to find the key, we were told that it was missing and that one of the mechanics probably just left it in his pocket and brought it home accidentally.
We were bummed but really did like the vehicle, so we sat down with the sales manager and he really really was selling it to us at this point. "It's a rare find because it did so good in inspection." "Very little even needed tweaking."
We settled on a price and contract that was completely contingent on us being able to drive the vehicle the next day and us fully liking it after the drive.
We were told to come in at our earliest convenience the following day. We did. The car was still not ready. Why? Because not only were the keys missing still, but the vehicle had never actually been through inspection, and something was wrong with it and needs to be fixed. Now, it's been almost a week later and we are still stuck in a contingent contract because we cannot drive the car to tell this horrible, lying dealership that we don't like it anymore.
Please, run far away from this dealership.
