  • Just to be clear Hickman's farms regularly does not practice cage free raising, their chickens are not cage free. Just having spoken to the "Customer Service Department" I have been enlightened to the fact that not only are the chickens NOT cage free-- but each each chicken is left in its cage until death. The department also shared that they "do not have access" to further information, the representative I spoke to truly sounded genuinely/innocently yet still unjustifiably uninformed. ...especially for being the "customer service dept." **IT IS IMPORTANT TO ADD, however, that I was informed after ending the call, through further research, that they are starting an "uncooped" program (this seems to be an out of state/not local thing, though) I will update with any other info. The customer service department would be more effective when more informed of practices and programs, instated and yet-to-be-instated (especially if the information was already released to the public).
