  • I must start by saying I'm not into buffets at all, and I thought this one was really great! Not only did it cater very well to carnivores and veg-heads alike, I thought it offered a really wide range of all types of cuisines with some, shall we say "fancier/trendier" items such as bone marrow and sage and beet ravioli. I was actually very pleasantly surprised to see so many items plated with care. Even though I don't eat it, I though the individual mini wire baskets of fried chicken were cute as well as some of the Italian dishes served in mini cast iron skillets. The kiddos loved eating Chinese right from the mini cartons. It was all very adorable and I appreciated every meal wasn't sloppily thrown in a large silver dish like I come to expect as buffets. I enjoyed many different vegan salads including a flavorful tangy quinoa. Sides such as broccoli rabe and bok choy, even some tasty veggie sushi! My favorite however was the kung pao chickpeas!! It was outrageous and filled with zucchini, mushrooms and other veggies. Perfect kick! Perfect filling dish! Yum! The kiddos loved the freshly rolled sushi, all of the pasta dishes, from simple penne al la vodka to Moses exotic butternut squash. They certainly the desserts! I must say, the sweet offerings were rather impressive and plentiful. Hubs got his fill or fresh seafood...huge shrimp cocktail, lemongrass mussels and carved meats including an Italian sausage he raved about. Oh, and the angry Mac & cheese he couldn't get enough of! All and all, we ate our faces off an enjoyed ourselves. It's certainly not a cheap meal, and one I'm not sure we would go out of our way for if we didn't have a comp, to be completely honest. If you're staying at The Cosmopolitan and need a "morning after" meal, it's probably worth it. They also offer $15 unlimited adult beverages if you need a good old "hair of the dog" to go with it. Bring patience...Lines were extremely long for lunch. Luckily we had a pass to skip with our comp, but I can imagine that wait is a bit of a bummer. Maybe try to get there right when they open!
