| - I don't frequent Dark Horse Espresso regularly enough to be able to pull apart differences between locations beyond decor. So, let's start there: I like this location. In fact, I'd be happy to move in (just waiting for my invitation). Rustic urban? Wood and glass? Sure. Where should I put my futon, guys?
Even though it's in a supahdupah busy location on the edge of Chinatown, Dark Horse has a solid layout that not only benefits those popping in for a cuppa, but also allows for laptop squatters to find a quiet place to do a little work (see also: people watching). There are the standard communal work tables, and the benefit of additional space care of a (sneakily; semi-hidden?) second half-floor.
Staff is friendly, espresso is quality, and I always love the touch of the carafes of water by the side of the bar.
Yelp note: worried that there's no washroom in sight? Fear not, it's just trickily located out the door, and down the hall, and around the corner (seriously). But it's there! And that's all that matters.
