| - I decided to go with this this Public Storage location for the following reasons:
Availability
Price
Location
GOOD THINGS:
Price was good. Location is a great area where I feel comfortable having my belongings. My appointment to complete paperwork was with Lisa. From what I understand, she is a relief property manager for several locations. She was VERY nice and helpful. She certainly made my poor initial impression much better.
MY TWO CENTS FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH:
Prior to selecting the Hayden Public Storage location, I had a very bad experience at the Desert Cove location. Due to my experience with Desert Cove Public Storage, I didn't even want to work with any Public Storage locations! But, they had the best rates. I figured another location may be managed differently.
When I called the Hayden location, I spoke with Pat. I reviewed pricing with her, and had some questions that were directly related to the misinformation received from the other location. I informed Pat a little bit about my poor service experience. She asked which location I had gone to. I stated "I really don't want to say which location, I'm just telling you what happened." She proceeded to tell me that she would like to know because she administers a lot of the training to property managers, and she would like to know if they are misinforming customers and may need additional training. So I tell her. Suddenly the tone of the conversation changed. She immediately responded by saying how professional this other property manager was, and how she really knows her stuff, and she's intelligent. Okay, well this is what she told me, which was completely wrong. This is no exaggeration, she said "oh well this is a he said she said situation" about 5x in our conversation. It was like she was excusing this other property manager's actions. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Even if you don't agree with the customer, or are clearly questioning their experience at another location, you still address the situation. You don't address it by requesting to KNOW the location so that you can make sure things are done correctly, and then find out it is an employee you apparently think highly of, so suddenly the customer's experience doesn't matter?
Take a look at the Yelp reviews for Desert Cove. I could have written the one prior to mine! It is CLEAR that my experience was NOT an isolated experience. I didn't appreciate Pat making me feel like my experience was not credible just because she had a different perception of this other manager. Especially since SHE was the one who wanted to know which location I had gone to. Don't ask then if you just plan on dismissing what the customer is telling you.
I ended up renting a unit here anyways. The price and location met my needs. Pat and I moved through the conversation and didn't address my complaint about the other location. Which was fine, because I just needed a darn storage unit, but also VERY disappointing service! I also went ahead with this location because the other reviews were decent. As mentioned earlier, I met with Lisa and she was extremely pleasant to work with and didn't just dismiss my prior experience.
