This pharmacy is awful. If you don't pick up your prescription the day it becomes available it'll cause some issue in the system the day that you do go in to pick it up, where all of the sudden your "insurance doesn't cover it" because they think you picked it up on the day it became available. When you tell them to check their computer, they'll make excuses like "this is handled by our specialty pharmacy" or "I can't get it to go through". They tell me this every time and every time it takes over an hour battling with them for it to all of the sudden magically go through. EXCEPT THIS TIME. I ran out of anti-rejection meds, that are vital to my health (literally I could die without them). I knew I had this issue in the past so I even called ahead. They said they can see I didn't pick it up the day it became available so I won't have any issues. I went in and as always I had the exact same issue. The only option they gave me was to pay a few hundred dollars out of pocket for a few pills because my insurance wasn't open so they couldn't push it through, or I could wait until Monday (today is Saturday) for my insurance company to verify it and go two days without it. This was an issue with WALGREENS SYSTEM NOT MY INSURANCE therefore I shouldn't have to put my life at risk because Walgreens doesn't have a system that can accurately reflect when I picked it up. Systems shouldn't just assume that I picked up my medicine just because they filled it that day. That's unrealistic. I take over 10 different medications a day, I'm not always going to pick it up at the time it's filled.
I am very disappointed to say this is my very first time writing a bad review EVER because I can normally understand and sympathize with customer service reps or even companies because I know there are limits to what can be done. Walgreens has a faulty system, they are at fault for this. It has to be really bad for me to complain.... THIS IS GAMBLING WITH MY LIFE. I can't sympathize with that.
