| - I had a quick overnight stay at this Holiday Inn Express when I was in Pittsburgh for a conference. We checked in late (around 8pm) and the desk staff were very attentive and friendly. The clerk took the time to sign me up for their rewards program and review the perks with me. I also found the lobby and common areas to be clean and fairly updated. I don't usually stay in express hotels, but I was fairly impressed with my experience. Especially because we literally checked in at 8pm, slept there and checked out before 8am. I rented a double queen room and found it to be good size. There was a desk area and two large mirrors in the room, which was good because I was sharing the room with other ladies. The bathroom was small but clean. The bed was comfortable enough and there were outlets in the lamp near the bed, which is always a plus for me.
Additionally the hotel offers a continental breakfast and a complementary shuttle to the convention center. But, as they say, you get what you pay for. The continental breakfast did offer some sad looking eggs, breakfast meats and a make-your-own pancake station but I personally wouldn't have eaten them. I grabbed a bagel, piece of fruit and a coffee and was glad to have a quick/free breakfast. The hotel did not have a restaurant or bar, nor was there anything you could walk to nearby, but the hotel staff was glad to help us and/or provide delivery menus.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a quick stay or if you know you won't spend a lot of time in your hotel.
