  • Its sad for me to say this, but I've experienced better when it comes to hotels that are associated with the Wyndham rewards plan. The only reason why I stayed at this Days Inn was because of my accumulated points. Did I ever leave disappointed. THE UPSIDE: Good location by one of the highways that has good access from Tempe all the way into Phoenix + Scottsdale, etc. There are restaurant venues within walking distance (Applebee's is directly across the street), and the surrounding neighborhood + commercial district feels safe. The room itself was so-so in a manner where the major tangibles such as the bed were clean, yet other areas were questionable. THE DOWNSIDE: Parking is a bit tight in the spaces up front, as well as around the back area. Don't be surprised if you get door-dinged. The pool was out of order at the time, or so the sign said at the front desk. My first reaction was of why the pool (of all things) being out of order in Arizona temperatures of 120+ degrees in June? I find out later that someone at the front desk put that sign up on the counter "just because." SMH. Also, the room had a few bugs that were found within the bathroom. Not good. The AC worked (thank God), yet finding dead crickets on the bathroom floor was not a good impression. And the free WiFI? What a joke. During my two-day stay here, the WiFI probably worked half of the time. You would log on, and for two minutes, the signal would go out. I would call the front desk, of which they indicated that they would reset the modem, only to no avail. I was fortunate that there was a Starbucks down the street that I was able to get work done due to this inconvenience. Above all, one of the employees demonstrated a bit of disdain for guests in the morning. While the hours of breakfast are posted both on the website and front desk, why in the world would you close early, especially on the weekend? There were several guests that came down for breakfast that were as confused as I was. And the employee (an older man with glasses) completely blew everyone off in his answers, as well as demonstrated an attitude when it appeared that guests couldn't find basic essentials, such as silverware. The guy even gets mad at me when I go to the coffee dispensary and find that its near empty, only to have him snort out "coffee is in the other cannister" directly behind it. Dude, get over yourself. If it was that much of an issue, then why have an empty cannister on the table to begin with? Get off of your butt, and place the cannister in full view so that other guests can access it. Duh! Save for the petite female employee (I think it was the manager) that did her best to accommodate everyone's requests, this location appears to be in serious trouble. I certainly won't be staying here again until there are major changes made. Not a good experience staying here.
