  • --Be warned they will rip you off-- I have been a customer of Ford Yorkdale for years now but after my last experience I will not be returning. I am currently replacing my Ford Taurus with what was going to be a Ford C-max, (Was going to buy from Yorkdale Ford as it is about five minutes from my house and I have used them for years, until now) Prior to selling my old car my brother in law said he would fix a couple small things that needed doing. Topping up with coolant, changing a couple filters etc. Went to Ford Yorkdale and got a few things, got home and my brother in law said "oh I was just at Ford Yorkdale and got that Filter" Thought no problem, and went back to return it. Now every other place, you return something they take it back and give you your money back. At Ford Yorkdale they charge you for returning it. So to return my $44 filter cost me $10.92. I have never heard of something so crazy in all my life. It is called a "handling charge". All they had to do was stick it back on the shelf and that cost me $11in "handling fees" When I got home and realized the refund was a lot less then what I paid, I called Ford up and was told that is their policy. No idea how that is even legal but they do it. Can you imagine if any other store did this in Canada, they wouldn't stay in business a day. Well I think its disgusting. It just made me wonder, if they rip you off over something so little then what are they doing behind you back with other prices that you don't know about. So I have now lost all faith in Ford Yorkdale and will certainly not be buying my new car from them or any Ford dealership. Over $11 you lost an almost $40,000 sale, and more damaging, a negative review that around 3000 people will see a month. ( That's my average view total) Well done. Maybe re-think your "return policy" and follow what every other business in Canada does: Allow customers to return products without penalties. This sends out a terrible message for Ford.
