Had the pleasure of dining at Fleming s last night with a friend. What a pleasure. We made our reservation online and arrived a bit early. Rather than acting inconvenienced, they were very pleasant as they seated us without wait.
With their extensive wine list, presented both in a menu form and on an iPad and with the broad menu, it took some time to make decisions. While deciding we enjoyed our cocktails with their house bread, hot from the oven with several custom butters.
We started by sharing a Tenderloin Carpaccio that was perfect. We had the Caesar salad that was nice and crisp and very tasty followed by our entres.
My friend had the lamb which she was very happy with. My rib eye, is one of their signature dishes and I know why. Because they have perfected it. All their steaks are hand cut and wet aged. It came to the table right from the grill, nice and hot. The flavor was exquisite and it melted in your mouth. We had the Fleming s famous potatoes as a side dish that was more than large enough for two. Sadly we didn't get to try their desserts...we failed to plan ahead and overindulged before we got there.
I would have to consider Fleming's to be one of the TOP steakhouses in the Phoenix area in every respect. The ambience was great, the staff were obviously well trained and seemed to actually enjoy their work, and of course the food quality would be hard for anyone to beat.
