Friday night work lunch, so I only tried the food, not the drinks. The food was delicious and the prices were very approachable for the atmosphere and location. The beer-battered cheese curds are very light (weight and mouthfeel) and are delivered hot and melty. Maybe too hot and melty - I like my curds to have a little more heft and squeak to them, which they only have when colder. To go full Wisconsin I paired that with a brat sandwich, which was very tasty and the right size for my lunch appetite. Everyone else around the table got the burgers, which looked tremendous, or huge sandwiches with mountains of fries. For drinks, I didn't sample, but there's a great selection of 30 beers on tap with about half from local breweries.
I love Madison, and it's because every place I go ends up being 5 stars. Madison just breaks my rating system when it comes to Midwestern comfort food. I'll need to return sooner than every 4 years.
