Came here for my bday dinner and it was great. The place was really fancy and had a nice dark romantic feel to it.
I got the prefix menu that consist of Beef tartar, scallop with oxtail and mushroom, the 48 hour beef belly and ended with the lemon cheesecake for like $89 dollars.
The beef tar was okay. It's kinda hard to have anything better than Craft's wagyu beef tartar so it was only okay. HOWEVER, I did really love their version of the crostini. There were like 3-4 pieces. I also tried my brother's foie gras appetizer and that was spectacular. Also tried one of the oyster and wow was that really good(I'm not even an oyster fan but that oyster was amazing. (provided w/ pics)
The thing that really made me love this place was their EXCELLENT oxtail mushroom scallop. IT was SOOOO good. The aroma that came was excellent and wanted to make me drool. Came with 3-4 pieces of mushrooms and a piece of oxtail that actually looked liked a mushroom cause of the sauce. the sauce was excellent. Then of course the excellent and fresh scallop when you pair them all together is spectacular. I don't know how else to describe it but it was prob the best scallop I ever had.
48 hour beef belly: It was also really good. It's not the scallop AMAZING but it was still very good. Obviously when you braised it for 48 hours, it's soft and tender and is seasoned well. Obviously can't go wrong with the potato puree and sides.
The only reason why I decided to give it a 4 is the lackluster finish of the lemon cheesecake. The deconstructed desserts that they have is more of a gimmick than tasting good imo. It didn't taste good at all imo. The other chocolate dessert panna cota was better though. I really recommend straying off from the lemon cheesecake.
With that said, if you're down for a fancy dinner in Vegas, Sage is a wonderful place to go to. The prefix menu is excellent and I would recommend it to anybody.
