| - Once upon a time in Vegas a friend mentioned that we absolutely needed to stop by this burger joint, cool enough. I'm thinking premium beef burgers just on another echelon, but when I learned that we were talking Asian fusion burgers, that blew my mind out of the waters! First he enticed me with some talk of a banh mi burger and oxtail fries. I didn't need to hear much after, I was already sold and we were off to that bad boy!
We first walked in to a pretty chill atmosphere, the place seemed pretty decently sized but small enough to have an intimate vibe. Our group consisted of 15 people and almost right off the bat they were able to accommodate for us, stunning. We were greeted by two young ladies that seemed very comfortable with the size and chaos of our wild group, though these guys were my friends, I would never want to serve us as a whole... These ladies put it down quite effortlessly after all the belligerent yelling of orders and the confusion settled into starving quietness. Anxiously waiting we tried to keep everything as civil as we could but after a few drinks you already know that's not happening. Through the dining experience the service only got better with a few jokes cracked as to keep the whole experience light hearted and enjoyable. And that it was.. A+ on service!
Now onto the good stuff, the cool of side of the table ;) decided to do a little family style dining as to experience all that bachi burger had to offer. We grabbed 4 shareable plates right off the tee..
The pork belly buns - they were your classic glazed melt in your mouth slab of 3 layered belly paired with a radish, egg and some greens. Sweet, salty and savory harmony of flavors you expect to find in a good belly bun! 8/10
The Peking duck buns - when you go out looking for Peking duck, you're expecting damn crispy skin and hiding under that, tender, juicy duck meat waiting to be chomped down adding in the sweetness of hoisin against that savory succulent bird. Everything was there, don't be afraid of the duck! 8/10
Oxtail fries - simply amazing, crispy fries layered with sweet, spicy, and savory oxtail chili. Hold on, it doesn't end there. When you pair these bad ass ingredients with a fried egg, you simply shot me in the head leaving me dead amongst those who have died in peace... Seriously, the unctuous egg yolk leaves the richest taste in your mouth screaming out as if you wanted the chef to throw in another egg. TO. DIE. FOR. We ordered two, so shall you. 9/10
Takoyaki - the Takoyaki was okay... Maybe everything else was entirely way too good that I felt like this one fell short, 6/10
Last up the "shogun burger!" It's seriously nothing short of epic! The burger is laced with wagyu beef, unagi, foie gras, poached Asian pear, miso butter and pear. The first salty bite is complimented the sweetness of the fruit cutting against the richness of all the ingredients. The beef seems to be glazed with something cause it's packing a ton of flavor. All of the ingredients work together harmoniously to make this 26 dollar burger a Big Bang. If you're out for something extravagant, look no further 9/10
Overall I'd say this place is a hit, excellent service, good atmosphere and a few things in the menu for adventurous eaters. I bet all the money in the world you're about done with every plain Jane burger joint you've ever been to, just don't come looking for me if you don't like the joint ;) Put down what you're doing and get over to Bachi Burger. It's worth it!
