| - I moved across the country, and signed a lease for Ten01 without having seen the property. I went strictly based off the information I could find on their website - and I was very happy!!
PROs:
- Fairly priced compared to the surrounding areas
- The Property Manager, Wanda, is phenomenal. She always replies to questions/concerns within 24 hours.
- The maintenance staff is just as great. They handle all requests within 24 hours, and if there is a pending matter they personally follow-up with a phone call.
- I had my AC stop working in the middle of summer on a weekend. They were on-site within an hour fixing my problem, and offered a portable AC as back-up.
- Loved the location! It's on the border of three cities (Tempe, Phoenix and Scottsdale) and conveniently located off the 202
- About 10 minutes from the airport (~$12 cab ride)
- Parking garage and in-unit washer/dryer (many of the apartments I looked at charged for garage parking)
- I had an apartment on Tempe Town Lake, and was it worth the price! I saw some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets from my apartment. Some of the apartments on the lake can even see fireworks from the ASU stadium.
CONs:
- Lighting within the apartment is less than minimum. Aside from the kitchen, the entire apartment had one light, and the brightness is minimum. I had to purchase extra lamps.
- If you have an apartment that faces east/west, the sun really takes a toll in your electric bill. They should really consider tinting from the outside, or offering heavy shades instead of just blinds.
- The hallways have a weird smell. I'm not sure if they come from other apartments and filter into the apartment, but it's never a crisp, clean smell. It could be poor ventilation but it's not notorious.
- It's right across ASU, meaning this place can be lively (in a good way). It personally didn't bother me but this is a "younger" apartment complex.
- The walls are thin, but the effects are truly based on your neighbors. For the most part, they're manageable.
Overall, I would resign my lease here.
