It is my understanding that care here is far from personalized. My grandmother was admitted to this hospital recently. Unfortunately, when she wakes up she doesn't know where she is and is terrified if my grandfather is not with her. He has been visiting for a few days and leaving late at night. He fell in the parking lot around midnight and laid on the floor until he recovered enough strength to pull himself up by a railing and make it to his car and eventually drive home. He hit his head very badly and got a black eye. Apparently the parking lots are poorly monitored because it sounds like he was on the parking lot floor for awhile.
I understand there are a lot of patients and visitors but if you see a 90 year old man leave late at night and don't have security and the next day he visits your patient and has a head wound you might think to ask if he was okay, When family arrived at their home (we are all out of state) the wounds were already old and he had dried blood all over his face and a couple of regular band-aids on it. I can't believe the staff let him walk around like that and didn't even ask him if he needed help.
