| - I was disappointed with Body Blitz, which I found small, and not especially service oriented. I felt as though I were at a women's only rec centre, rather than a truly pampering, luxurious spa/hot spring/onsan. The female attendants/cleaners were omnipresent and somewhat too brusque for the environment. Having gloved people zipping about cleaning, delivering drinks etc. may be necessary for upkeep, but could be done in a more gracious and altogether more appropriate manner. Furthermore, I think there should be stacks of towels, cups for water, and extra robes available for clients, rather than giving everyone just one, and forcing them to ask for more (which you'll need after you soak through your towel and robe, after repeated steam/sauna/pool sessions). In addition, given the price of services, a complementary cup of tea or juice seems in order. It isn't the extra cost of buying your own, but rather the fact that you must order in advance and pay that irks me. I don't want to have to worry about such things in that environment- heck, build an extra seven dollars into the price if you must, and give people the option!
My massage was nice; just nice, not exceptional-- and this after my body was considerably loosened from all my soaking.
On the other hand, my skin looked fantastic when I left, and I felt very clean and relaxed. As well, while I was dressing I spoke with one of the women cleaning the dressing room, and found her very nice (though this comes back to the awkwardness of people constantly cleaning, while you are naked/half naked and supposed to be relaxing- I didn't feel thrilled to be discussing Toronto nightlife while trying to dry off and dress).
All in all, it isn't a bad way to spend an afternoon bonding with your (girl)friends, but not my favourite spa, and defintely not worth the expense, in terms of the experience.
