| - Last year I had 2 crowns placed in my mouth, then on a Friday evening I had one of them pop off unexpectedly after hours. Not sure what to do with the jagged edge of tooth I had still in my mouth, I called the emergency line, which Dr. Patay responded to within 10 minutes. He was very reassuring and told me what to do to get through the weekend and glue my crown back temporarily. He told me to come in on Monday when they opened.
Monday morning I show up without an appointment, and they got me right in! Rather than simply gluing the old crown in, Dr. Patay opted to carve a new crown and place it the same day. Annette, his assistant, and the Dr. were so helpful and kind, and I really appreciated all the time and attention I received from them even though they had a full day of appointments and mine was not scheduled. Dr. Patay was not the one who had installed the first crown that fell out, but he took the time to make my mouth whole without charging me.
I cannot thank Mountain Dental group enough for helping me with my teeth. I was panicked and lost before I spoke with them. The new crown even has more ridges like a real tooth, whereas the old one had a flat edge.
Awesome dental practice!!
(UPDATE) 1/22/2013
The new crown failed after just six months, and now they are saying that there isn't enough tooth left to do another crown. I went for a second opinion, and had a periodontal surgeon tell me my bite is misaligned and that it puts sideways pressure on the crown, that's why they keep failing. Mountain Dental didn't find that out, they just kept me coming back for warranty work.
AND Dr. Patay isn't there anymore, just like the original dentist that talked me into the crowns in the first place... =/
