  • Hands down the best place to eat in Pittsburgh. Just the sauces alone are enough to give 5 stars for. I have been known to eat the Chimichurri sauce by itself while waiting for my food. The wait is well worth it. The wood-fire flavor is out of this world and it seeps into every food that they serve. The roasted veggies are to die for and a must to order as a side. The steak sandwich is a classic and so filling. I can hardly ever finish the whole thing but still order sides because I just can't resist. Finally, the star of the show: THE PAELLA! I lived in Spain for some time and it's the closest I've experienced in the states to authentic paella. It's cooked in the traditional cast-iron skillet so it gets that charred, crunchy rice at the bottom that I have bene missing. Truly worth it. And the price just can't be beat. For such an outstanding, renown and acclaimed restaurant, it astounds me that they haven't raised their prices. I myself can eat there (and feel like I don't need to eat for days) for $15. And for a group of four adults, we got an order of steak (that came with a side salad and grilled bread), four pieces of corn, an order of the veggies, an order of the wings and the $50 paella and our entire bill came to just $99. And we had leftovers! It was fantastic. Plus, the fact that it's BYOB makes it even better. The only set back is that you can't sit and bask in the glory of your food coma because there are so many people waiting for a table. But it's honestly part of the experience. Just remember to tip the staff too! They work so hard and the service is great. Just because it's not your typical sit down service doesn't mean they shouldn't get some cash thrown into the tip jar at the register. The whole staff (including the kitchen) shares the tips, and that's always been something I've appreciated in an establishment.
