| - This place was very cool. I love the school theme, down to the Menu having a cover of a composition notebook, the napkins looking like lined paper, and the drinks on a clipboard. The bar area resembled cafeteria style seating too. The lighting was soft but brighter than most which made for great pics (at least at the bar seating). It was definitely packed. Their menu wasn't very extensive, but had unique items. Prices were reasonable. You could order appetizers for under $10. Speaking of appetizers, we ordered chicken wings, edamame hummus, buffalo cauliflower, bacon and cheddar tater tots.
The cauliflower was SO GOOD!! I didn't know what to expect honestly. I thought it would be steamed cauliflower. But these were breaded and fried. Considering it is a veggie that can get very soft, they were actually very crunchy and flavorful! You couldn't tell there was cauliflower in there. And they gave you enough to share. It was my favorite thing there.
The chicken wings were ok, I didn't have any but my family did. My family also LOVED the Bacon & Cheddar tots. I expected them to be smothered, but they weren't. They were literally tater tots with bacon and cheese inside. So good! I personally also loved the Edamame Hummus. My family liked it but not as much as the tots and cauliflower. But the hummus was my 2nd fave. The flatbread was grilled what seemed like on an open fire, because pieces of it were charred- which to me added to the flavor. I love charred pieces! I was very surprised at the hummus and bread, I would order it again for sure!
My brother had their pizza, which we were not impressed with. I wouldn't order that but I'm glad I tried a slice. Something about their crust.....
But guys....I tried their PB&J Burger.....split it in quarters. Crunchy peanut butter with a blackberry habanero jam (house made). On a real piece of meat! I was scared! I love me some burgers so I was very skeptical....and sharing it helped ease my fears LOL! BUT it was actually very good!!! I feel like the jam could be spicier (wish it were) but maybe it would be too spicy for some and also, you can never tell how hot a pepper is until you taste it. Also, the jam was very runny- almost like a syrup. But overall I would order it again and NOT SHARE.
Service was ok. The pizza came after we all finished eating- they must've forgotten? They served us our appetizers but didn't give us any plates or silverware- we had to ask for those. That's why I deducted 1 star.
Overall, I would recommend this place and plan to go back!
