| - We were recruited by a woman out of Casino Royale. After giving us the wink, yes you live together and have same address, both make over 60K and have a credit card, you qualify to receive two free show tickets and tickets to a buffet at a strip hotel. She said if we give her $50, all we had to do was a 2 hour tour of a new timeshare a short walk from the strip and we would receive two show tickets and two buffet tickets. She even said she would give us back 25 of the 50 after completing the tour.
Tour day comes and we meet at casino. After a 25 minute drive, we finally arrive at Grandview Resort. We are assigned a woman sales person who is like our personal tour guide. We told her that this seemed as something more for families not us. Yes, she and her manager tried every line to sell us a timeshare-from dropping the price a wee bit, to giving us two weeks every other year, and to list the many reasons why we are making the wrong choices for staying in hotels and wasting our money.
Two and a half hours later, we finally get to the end of the 'sale pitch' where we have to meet with a woman who wants us to evaluate our experience and tell her why we didn't sign up. Ugh. Once done here, we are taken to a waiting room filled with people who have been there on average of 3 hours waiting to collect the 'rewards' they were promised for doing this tour. It is here where we find out that some people put down $20, $60, $125.....some got all the fees back-others half.
The lesson here-Take a Break timeshare resort recruiters may say anything to get you to go on a tour. Five hours later, we had show and buffet tickets and did get our $25 back. If you do sign up and they tell you 2 hours-know that it may be longer than that.
