I just flew from Phoenix to Toronto on what I thought was Air Canada. Actually, it was the low rent subsidiary Rouge. I know airlines are getting stingier with the amenities offered to travelers. Rouge takes it to a new level, anybody over 5'4" will feel like their knees are around their ears, the seats have little, if any, cushioning and they are cheap with the beverages. If you want a bag of potato chips, get out the credit card!
The flight attendants were nice enthusiastic young ladies who very were pleasant. The flight itself was smooth, but uncomfortable due to the tiny seats, little leg room and meager padding. I get carriers need to make money, but do they have to make flying a completely unpleasant experience in the process for travelers?
Tip: Don't fall for first class on Rouge. The same crummy seats are used, a tick more legroom (2-4 inches maybe) is given and a nice red curtain is provided to distinguish it from coach.
Is it worth the cost of upgrade? NOPE!!!
