  • For those who've been looking for it under Rockefeller park greenhouse, this would explain it. This place is an absolute gem. Free, free parking, open every day till four. It's not unlike a smaller-scale version of the botanical gardens, but it is, again, FREE, never crowded, always a joy. They have a beautiful poinsettia display around christmas time, and lovely tropical plants (including orchids) the rest of the year. In the summer time there are several outdoor gardens, including a talking garden for the blind with lots of hardy plants to feel, along with an audio tour. I take all my out of town guests here, and it's a terrific place to stop in for a little while and forget all about winter.
