  • I've seen the show three times now. The first time was amazing (about five years ago), five star experience. The second time was after the unfortunate tragedy where one of the performers died during a performance. They had to change the end of the show to a projection of what the ending should have been and it was lackluster to say the least. The third time, they introduced a new ending. So having seen it three times, I know some of the beats. That being said, there are STILL parts of the show that got me teary eyed. This is french, abstract, acrobatic art, yet they put enough story in there for the audience to care about the characters. The story isn't like groundbreaking nor will it make the most of sense, but you will know who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. What is such an amazing part of the show is that the show just doesn't take place on stage. You will have action happening all around you. It's almost an interactive experience as you whip your head around to catch all the action. This is by far one of my favorite things about the show. The show does hit a slow spot and I just wish they would take it out. (Slight spoiler: Tarzan and ropes). When this point hits, it just feels like the show drags. People are just doing this forever. Luckily, I believe the next set change is where the most dramatic acrobatic act takes place, so at least the action gets going pretty quickly. The ending is an improvement on the projection. It is not as good as the original ending the first time I saw it. I don't blame them, I rather have something controlled than risk losing another life. It still is an impressive sight to see. I say overall, the night I saw it for the third time, it seemed like all the fight scenes were going 3/4 speed. It didn't seem as fast as it should have been. Not sure if that's just how it was supposed to look or if it was just how fast they were going on that particular night. It didn't take away too much from the overall production, as there is much more to the production than fight scenes. This is still one of my favorite shows. The fact that this show provokes so much emotion from me AND still has time to perform awe-inspiring stunts is a testament to how good this show is.
