My good friend invited me to attend the Vagina Monologues as she had a role in it. It was presented in the little theater inside the student union. My friend and I arrived right on time, easy parking and access. We walked in and found our seats and waited for the performance to begin. The theater was small and almost reminded me of a lecture hall the way it was set up. There were good acoustics as well.
The performance was really good. Each young woman presented her assigned monologue and you could feel how much these women believe in this cause. I found myself agreeing with them often and providing encouraging applause. Some of the monologues were very serious and riveting and others were a little humorous but each one had meaning.
This performance benefitted the UNLV Care Survivor Fund which is an emergency fund that is available to UNLV students who are victims or survivors of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence or stalking.
I was more than happy to attend this moving performance and donate to this worthy cause.
