  • I started my apartment search on August so I would move out by November. New in town, recent graduate in a big city, I went places and places, I did research for various options, I was looking for something small, affordable and CLEAN. When I first went to Wyndham Place I talked to Justine, a girl in the reception she was nice and she walked me thru the complex and explained me their specials and floor plans. At first this wasn't my first option or better said "my ideal" but it LOOKED fine and it was affordable, but I guess I was so NAÏVE. I kept looking and time was passing by so one day I decided that I would fill out an application, this time I talked to Priscilla who was and is very amicable and friendly, she even decided to match the price that was advertised on their website which was different from what they had in their flyers. I filled out the application and everything was ready to begin paperwork, but I wanted to see the Studio I was getting first. About 2 weeks passed and they kept telling me they were arranging the studio, fixing stuff and getting it ready, by this time I was a little pushy since I had time on me and I already had my plans. One day I called and I was able to see the studio, it needed some fixing and cleaning but nothing major (I THOUGHT) so I waited and decided to begin paperwork. That process was quick and easy Priscilla explain all the pages of the contract and made sure I didn't have any questions. Finally the day of the move out came and I had my entire stuff ready in my car so I decided to call the office to make sure that everything was ready. When I called I was told by Priscilla that she "WANTED TO GIVE ME A HEADS-UP" and that there were some roach issues in an apartment in my building but that I had nothing to worry about and that the problem will be solved. By this time I had already signed the lease and I was out from my relative's house with my stuff in my car, I didn't really have any options and since she was so sure it was no big deal I saw no further problem. I moved in, and everything looked fine, there was a strange smell which I thought it was the carpet or the smell from an empty and closed room, I did my check list for move-in I took note about all the details that needed fixing, and didn't encounter any roach or bug. Timed passed and I started seeing one or two little roaches, I told the office and they told me that they will spray and get my apartment sprayed. Days passed and more and more roaches begin to appear, by this time I was really frustrated and panicked, I could sleep and I felt dirty and to the point that I wanted to throw away all my belongings. Management offered me to spray, they give me tips and assure me the problem was going to be solved, on the other part I did my investigation and talked to neighbors whom told me they had the same issue and that it was an issue that "wasn't getting resolved and that the office didn't care" I decided to break the lease, I went to the office and talked to Priscilla of how I felt that I was lied and that I wasn't going to be in that room any more day (I stayed there a total of 12+ days), she told me of course that If I wanted to break the lease I had to do all this payments because I didn't comply with the contract. I told her that I didn't want to pay (for obvious reasons) and that It was not my fault that I wanted to move out. I told her that if we could make some kind of deal because this wasn't my fault, she told me that she was going to see what the options were and that she needed to "talk to her boss". Since I was not getting any response I decided to go to office that manages this complex which is ParaWest Management (Hayden Rd in Scottsdale) and they listen to me, noted my info, promised to call me back but told me that Priscilla was the only one that could help me with my pitty situation. I went back to talk to her and told her I went to her management so we ended up making an agreement so it was cheaper for me to move out, she even offer me payment options and handled the situation very calm and without any screams, or low-class arguments, she gave me all my receipts and paperwork, all I wanted was to move out and had nothing to do with the studio or the complex. I felt I was lied to, felt abused and I ended up paying more than $1000 for the 12+ days I was at the complex, I regret the experiences and I don't wish nobody has to go thru something like this. Save the hassle, do more research if necessary but don't consider this place to live.
