I won't return.
Pros:
- The Plaza has a great location.
- The Plaza is one of the lesser expensive hotels, but (still) not worth it.
- Rooms were large.
- Free wifi-it was pretty great too.
- Free parking.
Cons
- I asked for another room upon immediately entering my first room--the 7th floor near the pool smelled awful (this was the a-tower)
- I didn't return or ask from an upgrade to my second room because the counter was seemingly always way too busy and my calls went unanswered after 5 minutes of hold.
- The third floor elevator to go to the garage looks and smells pretty foul. Beat up, dirty and over zealous on smell.
- There was a used condom that remained in the stairwell my entire trip--um, do we think we can get a clean up in aisle 9 people.
- I called them while at the hotel and called afterwards. I tried to give them a chance to show they remotely care about their customers, they didn't return my calls in either case. Maybe they care, maybe they don't.
- When I asked for a new room, I asked if the person before was fighting to get in or out because I can tell you the furniture was beat up, warped and all laminate was peeling (seventh floor)
- The place has subbed perfume for cleanliness. It's pretty overwhelming.
- Carpets and facilities are just beat up, worn and dated. Most of the stuff doesn't look clean.
Realistically, I've stayed at a few other places within 10-15 per night price range difference (though the Plaza charges less on resort fees). You can often find the Nugget or Oasis (Gold Spike) in the relatively the same price category. Much better facilities.
I might return if I was going for 1-2 nights and going to be mostly drunk during my time there. I was there for work, trying to rest and conduct business. Just not a great fit for that overall.
