| - The Dillard's Clearance Center is polyester heaven! If you're looking for some junky made in China clothes, this is your place. However, if you're willing to dig (and dig some more), you can find some true gems among the trash in this place.
It's an old, full size Dillard's department store where all of their unsold merchandise goes to die. The best part is that the items are all brand new with tags and in retail condition -- it's just a lot of the ugly, or oddly sized, or unpopular things that didn't move in the regular stores. You aren't going to have a successful shopping trip if you come here looking for something specific as most of the items for sale are one-offs. If you are lucky enough to find the perfect pair of Polo jeans in your size, grab them!
Each week the store runs new specials so it's worth calling or looking online before making the trek to shop here. The best ever are when they have 65% off the already lowest tagged prices! I've scored everything from a full length formal ballgown by Betsey Johnson ($32) and a pair of Ralph Lauren slacks ($6), to a Kate Spade nightshirt ($12) and a Jessica Simpson sweater ($4).
The best items are usually found in the women's dresses and tops sections, the worst sections being the home goods and shoes. Men's stuff is sometimes decent depending on the sale. If you search, you can find higher end brands like Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren, but those special designer finds are few and far between.
This place isn't for the faint of heart, and you need to go with a couple of hours to kill, comfortable shoes, and an iron will.
